How to Tie a Speed Boat with Cleats

"Hi, I'm Albert Hedgepeth with Expert Village. What we're going to talk about now is the importance of tying up your boat properly to the cleat. One of the easiest ways to tie your boat up to the cleat, is to come around the front of it, come across the back horn, go around the front horn, and then you're going to want to roll the rope under, so that the loop actually runs back parallel with the top cross rope that you've put around the horn. You snug it tight, and that will hold most boats. You've also got the other end of the loop, which for quick purposes can merely be thrown around the horn to hold you, if you're just pulling in to grab gas or just to drop people off or to pick people up. Tying up your boat is important, and making sure that the knots that you use and the cleating techniques that you use are vital to whether your boat's going to be there whenever you get back."
