"Hi! This is Aaron Fruitstone and Liz Muller from Chi Martial Arts in Miami Shores, Florida. You can reach us on the web at www.chimartialarts.com. The next technique that you will be learning is from the closed guard and it is an arm bar. So Liz is going to have her legs close guard, around me control my body, control my hips, keep me from getting away. If I decide I want to choke her from inside of her guard she is going to control my arm with this hand. The other hand is going to go up into my collar. There are multiple positions to set this up from, but we will teach you this one. She is going to open her guard and take this foot and put it right on my hip with her knee in tight so that I cannot put arm out. The other leg is going to shoot straight up and she is going to push with this leg to turn her body sideways to me. By doing that, she hooks my back with her top foot so I can’t sit up anymore, now she takes the hand that is in my collar pushes my face out of the way, swings this top leg around, pinches her knees together and lifts up putting pressure on the elbow. We will do it one more time at normal speed. Close guard, trap the arm, grab the collar, push, push the face up, leg around, kick."
