"Hi! This is Aaron Fruitstone and Liz Muller from Chi Martial Arts, in Miami Shores, Florida. You can reach us on the web at www.chimartialarts.com. The next beginning Brazilian jujitsu technique that you will be learning is the north south position. This is a position, it is a kind of a transition position that you can get to as you go in from side control to the north side control, or knee on stomach or mount, all which are positions that you can points for in Brazilian jujitsu. It’s another control position. So what you will do is as this person is on their back, you are going to take a position, north south to them with your knees by their head. Okay. You are going to drop your chest on and re-scooping underneath both arms. Hold the belt and keep all your weight on top of them so that they can’t shift their hips so Liz is going to position herself. Knees by my head, arms are scooping under, holding my belt nice and tight, and her chest weight is all on me. This makes it very difficult for me to walk to one side or the other. I also cannot move my upper body because she has complete control of it. So what you will see is I can’t reach her but she has my belt, so she is in a great position. "
