"Now what we need is the proper amount of space, such as this, like a location such as a martial arts hall or a gymnastics facility to do the gainer move, because you need a lot of space to be able to run comfortably without any foreign objects or walls that are in your way, and you want to have about a good about eight or nine large steps for you to run and perform the move safely. You want it to be preferably in a carpeted or springboard environment or location just to protect your knees from the impact when you land. Also, if you can do it into a foam pit just to practice when you're first starting out, those are always good options. Now you also want to take a few other things into account. And those are the type of gear that you have. Particularly you'll notice that I'm wearing loose fitting clothing but it's not too baggy where I may slip on it, but it's also not too tight because when you kick up or you kick up for it, you do not want the pant leg to be restricting you as you're kicking up, preventing you from reaching your maximum flexibility or potential in that sense. Also another important thing is the shoes. You can choose to do this barefoot; however, you may also want to have maybe an ankle support, just to wear an ankle support like so just to keep preventative measures from hurting your ankle. And I like to wear shoes that are not too thick on the sole or the heel part because you might roll your ankle if it's too thick. You just want a nice martial arts or gym type of shoe, maybe a wrestling shoe or just any shoe that's rather thin but provides some support that contours the shape of your feet, so that when you land, because you're flipping upside down in the air and landing, you don't want to land and roll your ankle if the bottom of your shoe is too large that you don't have a right sense of where you foot is if the distance is too large that you can bend down and hurt your ankle. So aside from that, in order to do this move all you need is some space and yourself. And we'll show you how to do this move in a couple of other steps."
