"Depending on the type of DVD player you have, the outputs may vary. Higher end DVD, HD DVD and Blu-Ray players will have an HTMI output for superior digital picture quality. If you have a choice, this is how you want to go. Some players have a VGA output. This is also useful if you are using your computer as a video source instead of a DVD player. Component video is the next best thing giving you a progressive scan playback and or HD signals depending on your DVD player. DVI inputs also give you a true digital picture. Again, use the best cables possible for the equipment that you have at home."
