"Hi, I'm Rob Mitchell for Expert Village again. We're going to be getting into our lighting demo now. Now, for the purpose of this demo, we're going to use tungsten incandescent lights. You can do portrait shots, fashion shots, with these lights. There is no one saying that you can't do it. The disadvantage as I mentioned before is the heat. They are extremely hot. God forbid somebody should trip over your light stand and it should fall and hit your model or your subject. It could really cause a severe burn. Again, if you're going to use these, do tape the stands down to the floor. When you bring your subject in, do warn them. There are lights here. There are cords all around. Please watch where you step. The reason that we're starting up with this today is because the light is continuous. As I move the light around a subject you're going to be able to see the effects that it has. The sharp shadows that it creates. We will be able to bounce it off reflectors and soften those shadows. When we move into studio strobes, it's not going to be quite as apparent. We will have a modeling light, but it's a little bit more difficult to see. The only reason you're going to get that down pat is you shoot and shoot and shoot. Make notes of what you've done and then take a look at the results. That way you're gonna figure out the lighting that's best for you. Let's see how this works with the model."
