Summary: Improve the sound quality of your video production with two mics and learn how to set up a lavalier and shotgun mic configuration for audio recording with a Canon XH A1 video camera in this free production video.
"Let's set up our mic. combination Lavalier and a Shotgun. First off, I'll set in my Shotgun on the XH A1, right here just like we did earlier. I'm going to be using a little piece of t-shirt because my particular mic. needs a little bit more padding to be secure in this mount. So, we'll secure it and, since I'm going to consider my Lav. my primary microphone, I'm going to put this into the second channel. Okay. Just like we set our Lav. earlier, again my Lav. system is a shoe mount, I'm going to shoe mount this and however you need to setup your Lav., you go ahead and do that. We've got our XLR running from here and we'll run that down to our first channel of audio, right there. Again, you want to get the rest of your Lav. system setup on your host, or whoever, get everything on, and then in the next clip I'm going to show you how to set the levels on this and how to make sure you getting those two separate channels of audio."
