"The first setup and what I consider, probably, the most useful setup, is going to be a combination of our Lavalier and our Shotgun cardioid mic. Some of the reasons you might use this setup. I think, in my mind, you have like a host to what you're doing. And on that host you want a Lavalier because you want them to be there in present with that great Lavalier sound when it's on somebody. But, if this person is talking to anybody else in the room, you're just not going to be able to hear that person over the Lavalier because it's pretty much contained to the person it's on. It's not going to pick up somebody over there very well. It's also not going to pick up background noise very well either, if that's what you're going for. If you combine that with a Shotgun that has this directional field you're going to get a lot more noise than your Lavalier, background noise that is, especially if you want it. And, say the host is talking to somebody, you point the camera to who they're talking to, which is also going to point the Shotgun towards them, and now you're getting great audio on that person. That's just one scenario I thought of that would be a good reason to use this combination. Also, I think it's just the best scenario as far as safe shooting. Even if you are, just got a host that's only using a Lav., you might throw on that Shotgun anyway, just to be safe and pick up some ambient that you might throw in at post. Let's get started doing this setup."
