" Label your tape; this is very important. Your tape can be saved so that you can never rerecord on it. To do that, it will have a little green or red marking here. You can push it down and if you push it down to save you will not be able to record on this tape again. If you have it pulled up, then you will always be able to rerecord on the tape. Now, you can generally rerecord on the mini DV tape. Especially if it’s something you don’t really want. I would not suggest doing it if your capturing really important footage that you don’t want any blips on. I wouldn’t suggest doing it more than twice. I always shoot on a new tape, but that’s because I’m generally shooting something that I need to be perfect. Generally, don’t rerecord on a tape unless you’re doing some test trials with my camera. You want to take your video camera, slide the eject button, and give it time to pop out. Your labeling goes to the outside. These go to the inside. Slide it in, push it in, you will hear a sound, and it will go through. This camcorder, for example, is telling me that I’m at the end of the tape and that I need to rewind it. Generally, these camcorders, mini DVs, are extremely user friendly. If you just follow their instructions you’ll know what to do."
