"So I'm going to actually connect the Mic to our Mic terminal. Here's a Mic we're going to connect. You can see, it's already coming out with our 1/8th inch mini plug, which is exactly what we need. Another thing about this Mic terminal is you can not connect a Mic that requires Phantom power. We'll talk a little bit of Phantom power later but, essentially, you need to be connecting a microphone that has its own power source and you can see this one is battery powered. That means, when you plug it in, you're going to need to turn it on, obviously, and this brings up the important point of always having extra batteries on hand just in case your Mic goes out. It's obviously very simple; we're just going to plug in our microphone straight into this Mic terminal. And, there we go, we've got an external microphone, it's that easy. I'm going to turn the camera around so you can see our levels here. I'll just start talking into the, actually before we start I should probably turn the microphone on, so remember to do that. Now, we've got some levels, and there we go! Easy as that for an external microphone. This microphone is a little bit cheaper than some of the other MICS we're going to show you. It's still pretty good high quality. We maybe recommend it for; you want to get just all sorts of noise. If you're maybe, watching a band and you want crowd noise too, or something like that. Basically, is picking up a wide range of noise. That's how you hook up a Mic to the Mic terminal on the XH A1. Also, important to mention, that automatically, as soon as you connect it, the on-board microphone is turning off. So, that's a cool little feature, you don't have to worry about switching it because as soon as you plug it in you're now going through this and your on-board is off. That's our first external microphone going into the Mic terminal."
