How to Play Back Recorded Video on a Canon XH A1

"I've showed you how to record video, now I'm going to talk about playing back a tape. First off, I'm just going to lock my camera and it's basically turning off. Now on my dial here, I want to switch all the way to, and it locks when I go back into off, so I have to push the little lock release button, into the VCR Play mode. You can see it's actually going to turn on because VCR Play mode will come on whether you're in the lock mode or standby. Now we can actually play back our tape. Our playback controls are right here on the handle, hidden below this little flippy door right here. We've got your basic playback controls. I'll probably just rewind a little bit, you can see our tape is rewinding. Then I can stop and play. There we go, there is our awesome video. You can pause, or stop completely. One other function I want to show you is down here, below where your LCD screen folds in, it's called the 'End Search Function'. If I press this, what's going to happen is, it's going to automatically find the end of the tape and playback the last few seconds. See, there we go, the last couple seconds, and then it will stop at the very end of the last scene. This is kind of similar to our playback button, but if i go into VCR mode and I rewind or I'm looking back on my tape, I can quickly get to the end by hitting this End Search Button.
