"Moving forward, our next step is called the turn step. It comes from a variation of the basic, then the V, and then body will start to turn to the bench. We start with a front approach and a basic step. Take it to a V step. Alternate the V step, and then see the body will automatically start to turn to that side approach where my shoulder is side of the bench. Up, up, down, tap. From the front of the bench, where you can see and follow. Side approach, turn step. Tap down is the basic. Again, we have that tap down, so to avoid the tap down in more complex choreography classes, you'll see what we start to call a shuffle turn. Shuffle turn adds rhythm, a variation to the movement. It's still a 4 count move. It is 1 and 2, 3, 4. You might here it called the hesitation. 1 and 2, 3, 4. On the shuffle turn, I'm avoiding the tap down onto the floor by adding that rhythm. 1 and 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, 7, 8. Another variation you might see is what I call a flying turn where you just do a little step hop. You're turning from side to side on the bench. Step, lift. We have the regular turn step, which is 4 counts. A shuffle turn, 1, 2, 3, 4, which is 4 counts, or a hop, or a flying turn, which is 4 counts as well."
