"Hello! I’m Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Let’s talk about consumer camcorders. Another feature that makes a camcorder easy to use is the built-in program modes. For instance I’m going to go ahead and hit in menu on here and right at the very top I have program an AE, that’s for aperture and exposure I’m going to go, it says auto and then I have these modes I can go to spotlight, portraits, sports, beach and ski so now if it’s bright out, that’s good, the sunset that’s good because it will help pickup the background too. So each of these modes are valuable and if you know what the modes do like for sports, fast moving action it’ll try to set the shutters speeds so that it’s higher that means it’s going to open up the aperture to a lot more light in. So read your manual about these modes and get used to use in them and it can help you calibrate your camera quickly for the type of shot that you want."
