" Hello! I’m Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Let’s talk about consumer camcorders. Manual exposure, what is it? Well as you can see there’s a button here that says exposure. If I push this button what it does, it allows me to control the amount of light coming to the camera. So I can turn it down, down, down, it’s almost like a fade manual fade or I can turn it up, I could keep going the other way, it will be too much. Now normally if you take it and put it in automatic mode, what’s going to happen, it’s going to calibrate itself to have the right amount of light. What’s nice about doing it in the manual mode is that it allows you to adjust it so that way if some other light comes into the scene it doesn’t affect how this will look here. If the lighting will stay the same even though if it has got like really bright behind it right now it would not matter."
