How to Use the Manual Mode on a Canon XH A1

"So the next mode is manual mode and it is represented by a capital "M". And as I have been saying all along, this is what I use exclusively, and you have to set all the, the exposure and the shutter yourself, but you have complete control over your picture and I just, I recommend definitely if you're, if you know an amateur/professional whatever working only in manual mode and even if you are just a regular consumer with this high-end camera, learning how to use the manual mode because it gives the most out of it. Essentially manual mode means you have complete control over the iris, which is the iris ring which we already saw, which controls the amount of light let into camera and to how bright, dark or light your picture is. And you have complete control over the shutter speed right here which we already pointed out in another video but it controls the shutter speed and the higher the number the darker your picture is getting and the lower the number the lighter your picture is getting but once you get below twenty-four you start getting those tracing afterimages. But that is basically the manual mode, and then you can even still use auto-focus with the manual mode, probably we'll talk about that a little bit later and you can even use auto audio level as well, but basically you're getting complete control over this, iris and shutter. And definitely get to know how to use your camera. And try to use the manual mode, because the auto mode sometimes will not exactly do what you want it to. Say you are shooting at night and you want a real dark, kind of moody picture, auto mode is just going to start bumping it up and making it look all grainy whereas if you have complete control you can make it, you can get it that really dark picture by closing down your iris or whatever you need to do. So that's all about manual mode, I definitely recommend using it if you can get used to adjusting all the settings yourself."
