" Hello! I’m Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Let’s talk about consumer camcorders. Camcorders have audio and video outputs on them. This one is hidden under a panel here, pull back, and it says audio/video. Now that is absolutely great. We need a format that is not common. When I mean common for instance this uses an 8 mm tape this one is high 8. Most people will not have a deck at home to playback 8 mm tapes or digital 8 tapes, but what if you’re sending a tape like to grandma and grandpa and they have a VHS VCR, not a problem what you do take the cable that came with your camcorder. Here is the jack, so I go ahead and plug it right into the camcorder and then on the other end there’s three leads, the yellow is the video this goes into your input on your VHS, then you have audio left and right and plug this in to your VHS deck also. Once you have the cables plug in now if you only have a mono VCR and one audio input you could just use one of these plugs and plug it in. Yellow would still be for video. Once you’re connected put a tape in that you want to record to on to your VHS deck, start recording now what you do is press play on your camcorder and let it transfer. "

on 2/16/2009 Hello, I have the same video camera right now and I have tried to do what you have told me but I was unable to record. When I play my home videos through the camera, the video played on my INPUT 1 which is called VIDEO 1 on my tv. There is no such way I can put the channel on my VCR to INPUT 1. I have also tried to record straight into my VCR without going through the tv and this still hasn't worked. Can someone please help me? I would really appreciate it because it is becoming frustrating and time is running against me. Thank you.
