"All right, so the first thing that you want to do when you pretty much get your camera out of the box is go ahead and charge your battery up. And it is pretty self explanatory, if you have ever charged a camcorder battery before you probably know how this works but, just to show you. You take your battery charger, attach your plug to the charger and to charge the battery just plug it into the wall and then you will take your battery, it has a little arrow pointing up, that arrow goes toward the top and you will turn it on and you will see a little light will start flashing here and on this, this battery charger if you have one flash, you pretty much have no charge at all and then after a while you will get flash, flash and that's a about a fifty percent charge and then you'll get flash, flash, flash and then you are almost charged and when the light stays on you are fully charged. So that's how to work this battery charger. So after that you'll just going to want to insert the battery right and to do this you'll see on the back here there is a little, right below the view finder, a little open, a little button here, you just hit that and it pops open your battery case. And so you want to take your battery with the arrow pointing in towards the camera and you basically just push it on the bottom here and slide it in and make sure that it clicks. This little thing right here keeps it in place, so after that I would just close that and I am all set to go with the battery. To get the battery out, you just do the same thing, open it and then there is a little switch here that basically spring loads it back out, releases it and there you go. One quick other, one quick thing about batteries too, always use these protective cases, when maybe you are not using your battery and it's kind of cool, because there is a blue and gray here so what I do is when the battery needs to be charged I put it on gray but if it's fully charged I'll switch it around so you can see the blue and you know this is charged and you don't get somewhere and realize your battery is not charged, so that's all about batteries and how you put your battery in your Canon XH A1."
