"Hello! I’m Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Let’s talk about consumer camcorders. If you have home movies that are on VHS tapes what you can do is possibly use your camcorder as a transcoder. All that simply means is that you can take and convert your analog signal to a computer signal live through the camcorder. If you can you can’t you always hook up your VCR to the input jacks of the camcorder and copy it to tape and then once it’s on tape run it back out through the computer connections into your computer. This one happens to have a transcoder feature and what you can do is bypass the signal coming in straight through to the fire wire out and therefore into your computer and capture right on to your computer and then a burn a DVD if you like."
