How to Change GPS Preferences

"Hi, my name is Tony and on behalf of Expert Village, this is "How to Use Your GPS: Basic Edition," of course. Let's go! Chapter Ten: Changing Your Preferences on Your GPS For this lesson, we are, of course, using our TomTom One. So what we are going to want to do is click the screen once to go into our menu. Once we are in our menu, we can pretty much change anything that we want. I'll scroll through real fast just to show you. In the first menu, (page one), you have your "Navigate to" option and all the things we've used in the previous chapters. We just go ahead; and now we can do some other stuff. We can advance plan. So if you know you are going on this trip and you want to plan the entire trip, you do it all right there. You can browse maps and actually see a more detailed map of your journey. "View Routes;" you can see more detailed routes, just like the maps one. "Connect to your phone" and "Itenerary planning;" again, preplanning for your longer trips (if you are taking it across the country or across the state). Then we also have TomTom weather. Same thing; just like it says, what it does is give you weather updates wherever you are. This does require your Bluetooth phone. The "TomTom PLUS services;" these are all services that also require your Bluetooth phone. "Clear Route" is if you just want to get rid of everything, and start from scratch. "Guided tours" is if you want the voice on your GPS to actually tell you things. You know, "on your left, we have 'such and such.'" Pretty much, just like that. "Show version;" that's basically just the version of the software on the TomTom itself. And that's it, those are your preferences for the main menus. You can also go into your preference section and actually change things more. You can change the colors of your display, how long your display stays on, if you want it to show the battery levels, or the levels of the acquired satellites, anything that you want. If you want to turn sound on/off, change your home location, manage maps; anything that you want to do. Here I'm going to put the volume up a little bit more to show you some of the voices. Alright, I'm going to click on "change voice." Here's where you can go through and start messing with all the voices. You can have girl's voices, you can have guy's voices...I have a couple of funny ones on here. Like this one is Ozzy Osbourn. Change them around; different languages, different personalities. We'll click "Lori" for now. We just hit "test" and you'll hear what it sounds like. And just like that, we can change the voice. Well, that's pretty much it. I hope you enjoy traveling.
