"Hi! I’m Mark Westling with All Brands Copiers, Laser Printers and Fax on behalf of expertvillage.com and I’m here to talk to you today about fax machines specifically how to receive a fax. The most important thing when receiving a fax is to make sure that your fax machine is plugged in properly to the phone line, now most people who receive a lot of faxes have a dedicated fax number that rings directly to the fax, if you have that then using the keypad you set your machine to auto receive if you don’t know how to do that refer to your owners manual. Once you’ve set your machine to auto receive and you have the phone line properly connected the machine will automatically turn on when the phone rings, will answer it and will printout the fax. If however you’re using only one phone line then you have to set your machine to manually receive, when you’re receiving a fax you then have to press the fax button when the fax is coming in through, so when you hear the phone ringing you have to reach over and actually press the button in order to get the machine to receive the fax, so that’s how fax machines can receive a fax."
