"Hi my name is Richard Buccola of Starlite Karaoke here in New York City and on behalf of Expert Village today we're going to show you how to start and run a successful karaoke business. I want to talk a little bit about how much you should charge here in New York City I know that there are some DJ's that will charge more for a wedding you know it's a wedding then charge less if just a party or something. I try to just to stick to the same principles that I feel like I get you know do what you do to get what your worth. Don't try to under bit somebody's show I know there's a lot of that going around with karaoke you know host your trying out to bit someone else's show on cheaper. Don't do that, that's a bad inadequate I charge anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars an hour depending on the venue. If it's a one time thing I try to get $100 an hour, if it's a steady weekly show I try to get 50 bucks an hour. There's other things that I take into consideration if I have to go upstairs, if there's parking involved, but get what your worth and don't over charge and be fair with people that's going to be a big thing. Honestly goes a far way in this business."
