"Hi, my name is Richard Buccola of Starlite Karaoke here in New York City and on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to show you how to start and run a successful karaoke business. I'm going to talk about hardware. Hardware is your cables and your speaker wires and your surge protectors, these are the different types of hardware you're going to have, also your stands. So again, let's go over everything, you're going to have a mic. stand, that's part of your hardware. You're going to have the cable coming from your mic., that's going to be part of your hardware. I like to use like my speaker wires XRL's, people use quarter inch jacks, I try to use the best quality. You're going to find that spending the extra money is worth it because most of these types of companies will give a lifetime guarantee. So look for your lifetime guarantees for your hardware, especially for your cables. I have surge protectors, very important surge protector will prevent your equipment from over loading. It has a surge protector so if you have a boost of energy or electricity into the equipment run to your wiring it will actually turn off the system before shortening out your system. You also have speaker stands, speaker stands are very important to get your speaker elevated so that people could hear the music and around about way so that in a big area you'll get more sound by lifting your speaker off the ground. You're also going to need adapters. Different types of adapters you're going to see that everything might now fit like these are RCA's coming from the XRL's. XRL's speakers coming out but it goes to an RCA where I needed to get an adapter to fit into my computer. What you're going to have to do there is read, you're going to have to read about different equipment and do your homework and definitely read, read, read."
