"Hi, I’m Sharon Wilharm on behalf of ExpertVillage.com. And I’d like to talk about tag team teaching. Now not every home schooler wants to teach all subjects, sometimes you feel comfortable with one subject, but maybe not another. And so it helps to join resources with other home schoolers. A lot of times this is done informally, two or three families in a community may get together and decide that each mom is going to teach one subject that week and they will teach all the children. Now this works really good for science, history, the arts, and p.e. Subjects where you can work different age groups all together. Now sometimes you may have a group of high schoolers that want to take algebra and then you may need to find someone in the community, perhaps a teacher who has some extra time on their hands, a college professor or even someone in the business world that would feel comfortable and in that case, you may have to pay them and each person they need to charge, but you know you still are going to be learning in an informal setting. Another option is a co-op and this where a more formalized group of parents get together, they may take turns teaching or they might hire teachers and the students may actually go in a school setting from 1 to 2 days a week. You need to decide what works for your family and if this is what you want or if you would rather just teach all the subjects yourself"
