"SONJIA CUHER: On behalf of Expert Village, this is Sonjia Cuher. Once you decide a place that you're going to go and visit and you've narrowed down, you know where exactly you want to go and what is it you want to do, let's say that you actually want to do a trek, a trek in Cordillera Blanca, then you will need a map because we're not talking about just a simple highway or how to go from one place to another. This is not a very populated area, so you will need help, you will need porters, you will need different suggestions and help. But the actual way, I mean, the way that you will increase your chances of getting to see everything that you want is reading a map, checking the area. Figure out how long you want to do the trek, in how many days. The best place to find maps is the Internet. It's a lot of help, or you can even write or find in the Internet, the South American Explorer. They have offices all over and they have offices in Lima, so I believe that if you're going to do some climbing or trekking, you will have to prepare because it's not that easy. Usually, treks are in the highlands area, so you will need a few days to acclimate. So, go and check, and figure out the maps first. I mean, if you need 10 maps, get 10 different maps because different companies, they print slightly with different options. And once you have the exact trek that you want, go and talk to your porter, and he will tell you how much will it be, and if you want to do it by yourself, you can do it but it's pretty risky. Those are very desolated areas and you will never know if actually you're going to find the right turn or the pink house, where you have to make a left or right. So, it's not that expensive, get somebody that can help you."
