"In the bridal business we do a lot of alterations because this dress is one that has to fit perfectly, whether it's the bridal gown, the flower girl or the mother of the bride dress. It's rarely the exact length or the exact fit that you need so it's very important to find an accomplished seamstress who can handle things like beading, fine fabrics, do the appropriate work on fabrics that might be rooshed or do a rolled hem so it's important to find that person and give them adequate time to do the alterations that need to be done. In most cases, I'd say two to four weeks is a reasonable time frame. When you go to that seamstress, be sure you have the foundation garment you plan to wear the day of the wedding whether it's a strapless or just a very good bra. If you're wearing the real popular item that we sell a lot of these days, that's the Spanks that help flatten out some of our lumps and bumps as well as the shoes that you're going to wear. That will make a big difference in heel height."
