Lake Balaton attracts people from Germany, France, Norway - well, virtually from all of Europe. It's one of the great unknown vacation spots to Americans, but one of the most attractive and most cost-effective for virtually every budget. You can get yachts along the Balaton shores, or you can get rowboats and row yourself out on the water. At the same time there are horseback-riding adventures and numerous sites that can be seen all along the Balaton area. It's known as one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Europe."
