"BRIAN FIELDS: Hey, how's it going? I'm Brian Fields here at the Aussie Island in Wilmington, North Carolina. We're here on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here to talk to you about picking out a surfboard and what you can do to help take care of it in the meantime. Okay, talking about wetsuits. Pretty much, if you plan on surfing in the fall or winter time, you need some kind of rubber on you. It's going to keep something--something to keep you warm. If you're surfing on the west coast there, their water is cold year round, so you're definitely going to need this pretty much throughout all parts of the year. Wetsuits typically range from - you can get 20s, to a 32, to a 43, the higher the number, the thicker the rubber. Wetsuits also come in different types of rubbers, so depending on how much you have to spend on a wetsuit will depend on how nice a rubber you get. The better rubber, the more flexible, the more warmth it's going to give you. It's definitely a need if you plan on surfing at any cold weather at all cause flexibility is kind of the key to the game with surfing."
