"Hi! I'm Cherie Anderson and I am a International Tour Director and I am going to do a series today on how to get paid to travel. My background is in tourism. I also wrote the book the Tour Director Training Guide and I do an on-line class through 1400 colleges that is offered throughout the world. My background I started out as a Cruise Host working on Cruise lines and from there I went into tour directing and led tours all around the world as an International Tour Director. In the early 1990's, I went the colleges and I said look here are all these jobs and no one knows anything about it. I started training tour directors and guides for local, domestic, international tours and cruises and my students now can be found all over the world leading International tours, local programs, Domestic tours, cruises and local tours. So it is really exciting today to be able to talk to you about my business working as a professional Tour Director. I know there is very little information out there. A lot of people think we are travel agents. A lot of people think they can't make a living as a tour director and it is actually very exciting and lucrative if it is something that you will find interesting and in the videos today, I hope I can help you with the types of jobs that are available and give you a little insight to know that if this is the kind of the career you are interesting in pursuing.
