Hi, welcome back. I’m Jenny Karl, and right now we’re going to start with basic skin prep: what you need to do before you put your makeup on. And I’m going to use a makeup remover towlette on my model, but here’s a tip: You should actually do this right when you get out of the shower, when your skin is still moist. Your moisturizer will go on really nice and your skin will be really supple, and your foundation will go on really smoothly. You want to make sure you cleanse the entire skin. And you can also use toner. Some people love toner, that’s the step before moisturizer, and that’s up to you. If your skin is really dry, I would recommend skipping the toner phase and going right to the moisturizer because toner can sometimes dry out your skin. However, if your skin is oily, toner can be beneficial. So once your skin is completely cleansed and still a little moist, you want to go right to the moisturizer step. And you can put it, at home, right on your fingertips; just make sure your hands are really clean. I’m going to use a brush, which is not a necessity for you at home, unless you feel the need and you like to use a brush. It’s kind of like a little face massage. And make sure, if you’re going out during the day, you use a moisturizer with an SPF. At night, it’s not so pertinent because you’re not going to be out in the sun. But SPF is very, very important. And don’t neglect the neck, either. You want to take your moisturizer down your neck a little bit, because that’s also part of your face. And then I’m going to go right into an eye cream. And I use a lot of Mac products. I used to work for Mac, so I do have a love for some of the Mac products. They have great basic skin care, and I’m using their fast response eye cream on my model. And what that does, is it just helps smooth out the under eyes, before you put on your concealer or your eye makeup. It makes your makeup go on a lot more smooth. And then the last step is lip conditioner. Don’t neglect your lips, because nobody likes a crepe, pruny lip. You want your lips to look nice and soft and supple as well. And that doesn’t mean you need to use a lot of lip conditioner, but just a little bit. And you want to do that first so that by the time you get to the end of your makeup, you’re ready to put on your lipstick, your lip conditioner has soaked in completely to your lips. Alright, and now we’re ready to move on to foundation.
