"Hi, I'm Mark Emiley on behalf of Expert Village. In this next segment, we are going to go over taking our specific gravity measurements so we can track our beers fermentation. Now that it's nice and mixed up, we are going to take our hydrometer reading. So we're going to use our little thief, which is our bottle filler. Just stick it in here. Take some of the sample and put it into hydrometer which is also sterilized. We're going to do this until it's about full up to here. Now that we have our hydrometer filled, we can take a look to see how much sugar there's in here. You're going to look at the specific gravity which is the one that starts off with 1.000. And has 10, 20, 30 after that. And you're going to take your reading from there. You're going to look at the very bottom of enscous to make your reading. Whatever your specific gravity data is, write it down in your book and keep it for later, so that we can help figure out what the alcohol content is. For your English mount for this recipe, you're going to be aiming for a specific gravity of 1035. As long it's between 1030 and 1038, it fits for the style. If you don't quite hit those numbers, don't worry, the beers going to be okay."
