Step2
When a dog is always confined and never gets to experience freedom it is difficult to get the dog to come back. When you think about it, you really can't blame the dog.
Step3
The way to increase the chances of having your dog come back when you call is to let your dog experience some freedom. The problem for most dog owners is simple: How do you let your dog experience any freedom if the dog does not come back?
Step4
Attach a 30 to 40-foot-long line to your dog's collar. With the long line attached you can let your dog freely roam around. With the long line attached you can use it to guide your dog back to you. You can also step on the long line if your dog starts to wander.
Step5
As your dog develops a sense of freedom it will be easier for your dog to learn the recall command.
