Step1
Get to Open Screen With Word open in either an existing or blank document, get to the Open dialogue box by: (a) clicking on File in the top menu bar, and then click on Open, or (b) click on the File Folder icon in the Standard Toolbar, or (c) press the CTRL key and the letter O at the same time.
Step2
Display Details If the Details are not displayed, from the Open dialogue box, click on the down arrow of the Views icon as shown at the red arrow in the image at the left. From the drop down menu, click on Details. Columns of information will display for the files and folders.
Step3
Click Column Header Now, for the super easy way to sort – simply click the header name to sort the column beneath it. Any folders in the Open box will sort first followed by the files. Click the same column header again and the sort order will reverse. In the example shown, the “Date Modified” header was clicked.
