Tips & Warnings:

  • Try mounting Protectrix with just the double sided sticky pads to see how the unit works before screwing to your garage door.
  • You can mount Protectrix on the garage door lower to the ground so you can open the door a little to warm your car up and Protectrix will not close the garage door. Protectrix uses a Tilt Sensor to detect if your garage door is open.
  • This may not be for everyone, please be aware that your garage door will close automatically! There is a blinking and beeping warning for 30 seconds prior to the garage door closing.
Step1
Purchase Protectrix, see www.CloseTheGarage.com, they typically run $79, you can discounts for multiple garage doors/units.

Open Protectrix and Install the 9V Battery
Step3
Learn Button on Garage Door Opener Learn Button on Garage Door Opener Press the Learn Button on your Garage Door Opener. Usually it's on the back of your garage door opener, although it may be under the light cover on some models. The Learn button is usually Red, Purple or Black but could be other colors.
Step4
Test Button on Protectrix Test Button on Protectrix Press The Test Switch on the Front of Protectrix. Your garage door light should turn on or blink. You can press the Test Switch again to ensure you garage door opens and/or closes each time the test switch is pressed

Mount Back of Protectrix to Inside of Garage Door Mount Back of Protectrix to Inside of Garage Door Remove the front from Protectrix and mount the back panel of Protectrix to the inside of your garage door. Use the included screws and double sided foam tape. You want to mount Protectrix on an upper panel and level with the floor, do not rotate.

Replace Front to Back Replace Front to Back Reattach the front of Protectrix to the back panel which was mounted to the garage door. Be careful not to reattach upside-down.
Step7
Adjust Delay Timer to Prefered Delay Time Adjust Delay Timer to Prefered Delay Time Adjust the Delay Time on the front of Protectrix to the desired amount of time desired to wait before the garage door closes. Timer options are 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and off or disabled.
