How to Show Your Appreciation to Local Law Enforcement Personnel

Introduction

Many of us will pass a local law enforcement officer with little or no thought. However, these men and women literally put their lives on the line each and every single day to protect ours. Here, I have created a small video to display what these individuals go through on a daily basis and composed a list of simple ways that you can show your appreciation to these individuals.

Step1

The first way that you can show your appreciation to police officers in your area is to simply ensure that you stop and say "thank you" when you see one of these individuals. You should let them know that you understand the difficulty of their job, and that you are honored that they risk their lives every single day to protect yours.

Step2

Create an "Adopt an Officer" program in your area where certain groups are assigned to specific officers in the community. Individuals of that group should sen thank you cards, and small gifts like motivational books, office supplies, and more in order to encourage and motivate the certain officer. Even the smallest gifts, like an occasional letter of appreciation can make the day of the officer that is designated for the program.

Step3

You should consider donating money and office supplies to local law enforcement agencies as a way of saying thank you. These types of gifts can go a long way!

Step4

You may consider volunteering with local law enforcement agencies to enter in data, help in filing, cleaning, etc... in order to free up employee time. This way, these individuals can spend valuable time with their loved ones!
