"Alright, now we're going to start disassembling the chair; and we're going to start by taking off the entire front assembly and the entire back assembly. So we'll start by putting the chair on its back. As you can see, this is a curved back chair so we need some support under here so we don't crack the legs while we're pounding on it. I just take a 2x4 and sort of put it under there, maybe slide it down a little bit. In this case, I'm going to go ahead and put the 2x4 right where I'm going to hit. You take your rubber mallet and you're going to want to strike the chair right there, as close to the spindle as you can. You grip the spindle with your other hand and this is a little bit tricky, but you're going to hit the chair and lift at the same time. So it?s kind of a motion like this. Hold the mallet up like this and don't raise the mallet up and hit from here, keep the mallet about with your arm bent like this. So instead of a real heavy, swinging blow, it?s sort of a firm tap."
