If someone offers you a contract; if you’re going with a regular publisher or an agent, you should have your attorney look at it. I was about to take on a project and I was sent the contract and I thought this just doesn’t look right to me. I sent it to my attorney, she made several suggestions, and I sent it back with those suggestions. What I was told by the client was this is it. This is the contract, take it or leave it.
