Example of a Bad Publishing Job: How Not to Self-Publish Nonfiction Book

When you self-publish, you can go all the way from what I would call quick and dirty to someone who uses just about every possible resource that you could find. Let me just show you why this one is what I would consider to be a very inferior publishing job. It’s anthology of articles, chapters written by people who are humorous, the best in the business. If you look at this you don’t have to be a graphic designer to know that this is not very good, that it looks like somebody just figured out how to use type and figured if it’s bigger, it’s better. If it’s got more space between the lines, it’s better; if it’s got a design element on the side, it’s better. In general, it looks pretty cheap, and I think that it was and eventually they reprinted this book. I have not seen the newer version, but this is not very good."
