"Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com and today we are going to talk about different exercises on the bass and one exercise that is really helpful is a tablature exercise that we commonly use here and if you start on the fifth fret here, you can play the fifth fret with your index, sixth fret with your middle and then go up a string, seventh fret with your ring and eighth fret with your pinkie and do the same thing on the next string up, except this time we are going to play the fifth fret here, sixth fret here and then drop down a string and play the seventh fret and the eight fret. So if you put it together and then do the same thing up a string and you have a little exercise, what we call a spider walk. So going through the whole thing for you - and there’s the spider walk. And coming back down - so you could do it all day and you could also move up and down the fret board."
