    "Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com talking about different bass techniques and a very uncommon technique would be pedal tones for you bass. It is typically a guitar technique, but in a lot of Bach’s songs if you transcribe stuff from Bach and put it on a bass guitar it would look and sound something like this. All I am doing is using my index here on ten and using my ring finger on twelve of the G string, coming back to eleven, going back up to twelve and then back down to ten. And then you… say your root note is on ten, move your ring finger up to thirteen and the G string back down to twelve and then back down to ten. So your root note is creating this very good foundation for where the key is and that allows you to switch between these pedal tones here."
