"Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com talking about different bass techniques today. One technique we use in tuning is harmonics. We use the fifth fret of the string before the string that you want to tune and you use the seventh fret of that string. So fifth fret and seventh fret of the string above that gives you the same pitch and then if you want to do different lines with it, you could use a definite good harmonic sound on your seventh fret between the seventh and eighth and basically how I am doing that is just resting my finger on the string between the seventh and eighth fret and you can also do it up here between the twelfth and the thirteenth and usually a good one comes in between the fifth and the sixth as well."
