"Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com. I have been talking about different bass techniques and if your bass player is willing to experiment a little bit and your guitar player is possibly playing some seven chords, or some dominant seven chords, you can do different chords in the bass to complement that. If you want to do a D7 chord here, you can play the fifth fret of your A string, the fourth fret of your D string the fifth fret of your G string, put them all together and you have a D dominant 7 and anywhere you play that, it will give you a dominant 7 sound. So if you are planning a blues song and you want to throw that in there, it gives it a lot of texture, fills up a lot of space and makes you seem like a better bass player. "
