"Hi! I am Carl Shepard, going over some slap techniques here and further along we are going to use slapping utilizing hammer ons, something I will be getting into a little bit more. You want to hammer on with your index finger and then slap with your thumb, so the first thing you have to do is slap the open string and then hammer on to the note and then slap again. So using the open string with your thumb you slap any open string, does not matter which one, I am using A string right now and then you hammer on with your index and then slap again. So this is a slow, a very slow overview of how to do this, and then also after you do that, you keep your pinkie on the octave and then pluck, okay. So after the open string, the hammer on, a slap, there is a pluck after that, which gives you a very fast triplet; very popular with Flea and all of those popular bass players, Victor Wooten. So it is not exactly basic but it is not exactly advanced either. "
