"I am Carl Shepard; I am a professional bass instructor here to show you a few techniques. I am going to go over finger picking. Pretty basic stuff, I’ll use a Pentatonic scale on A to show you. You really want to use both fingers index and middle when you are going up scales and when you switch notes you want to alternate your fingers as well. So first note use your index, second note it is going to be middle, that way when you are alternating your fingers and you may be moving the scale up and down a little bit faster it is going to be easier for you, it won’t be as awkward when you are just using one finger, it will slow you down for sure, so it is definitely good to use both fingers.
