"Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com. I am talking about different scales and beginner techniques. We talked about the major scale and now I want to show you the G minor scale. We start here and in this scale we are going to span four frets again. However, this is going to be between the third and the sixth fret. So if I go up the scale I use my index to start instead of my middle because I will be going up to the sixth fret, okay. So, what I need to do is use my index on the third, middle on the fourth and ring on the fifth, pinky on the sixth, okay. Starting on the third fret, we play the third fret, fifth fret, sixth fret of the E string, third fret, fifth fret, sixth fret of the A string and then third fret of the D and finally fifth fret of the D string to get back to the octave G.
