"What I'd like to show you now, is playing A blues rhythms. And, what I'm going to focus on is the picking hand and showing you how you can use your pick and your fingers to have a nice rhythm. And, I will show several examples of that. And, in this example I'd like to show you what we're going to do here is simply play the bass notes with the pick. And, finger pick together the melody strings so the E, B and G are basically going back and forth like this. And, essentially what you are doing is playing them separately. You're not picking the bass note as you're picking with your fingers on the melody strings. And, what's good about this is basically you get instead of a sharp attack like you're getting more muted sound almost or bassier tone rather using the fleshy part of your fingers. So, essentially what it sounds like is this. And, what you get is a nice blend of pick and fingers in your rhythm line."
