"Another variation that has been used in many popular songs from the 50's up to, actually, today, is playing single string notes in the E Blues type shuffle. It's kind of a busier and a little trickier to play because you're utilizing a lot more picking. I'd like to show you this one right now. What we're going to do is go (demo). That's played slowly. So, basically, what I'm doing here is going, twice on the open E, and then G sharp, open, and then playing B, and then climb up to C sharp, going back to E, D, E, C sharp, B, E. Essentially what I'm doing here is (demo). That's a more picked and little more tricky type rhythm in E Blues."
