"A variation I'd like to show you now is playing an E. Show you what we're going to do is just instead of muting, like I have been in several other examples, I'm going to play open strings and show you an alternate rhythm that's a little upbeat and pretty catchy sounding. To demonstrate here what I'm going to play is... Pretty much what I'm doing is playing, putting an emphases on the upstrokes of the picking and what I'm going to be doing is here is going... Basically that is your rhythm. What you're doing there is just basically playing in series’ of two. One, one, and then go back to your two. In regards the the strumming part of it, what you're going to be doing here is simply up the speed. That makes for a much more danceable type rhythm while playing in the E blues progression."
