"You're ready to do mime and it might have occurred to you where did this all start. Remember the caveman? I'm sure you've heard. Well he might be out doing some hunting and he might had to fight a big bear. He takes it back to the cave and he has to tell the story. He tells the story by acting it out once again and telling the people all about it. That's where the nonverbal communication came in as we began speaking. In the 1950s there was a very famous variety show called the Ed Sullivan show. A man, a very wonderful French man named Marcel Marceau, was on the show. He presented the mime wall, the famous mime wall. That began getting mime all throughout the United States on the TV. People began doing it on the streets like Shields and Yarnell and other famous mimes. Robin Williams and old Red Skeleton."
