"Hi, this is Cable on behalf of Expert Village. When doing any kind of animation, it is important to do reference and model your animation after something that has been acted out. Maybe it is tv show, maybe it is a concept that you have in your head. But at the very least you should base it on reality. From then on you can change it as you need it. For example, there are many kind of balls and they bounce in different ways. So what kind of bouncing is your animated ball going to do one of these super ball here and different ways. So what kind of ball is your animated ball is going to do. We have one of these super balls here it is a very dent, it is very light, it is very very bouncy. We have a inflatable child vinyl ball and then we have almost like a cannon ball. This is 8 pound exercise ball. So the way that you animate your object in order to give it the illusion of elasticity and mass depends what your animated ball is made out of. So before you animate, do some reference figure out a plan before your animation. What kind of ball, how high does it bounce, how squishy does it get when it hits the ground. How many times does it bounce? So do reference."
