"Hi! I’m William Myers with Subaru for Expert Village. If you have a flat tire on your Subaru these are the steps you’re going to want to take before you start changing your flat tire. We’re going to show you how to change your flat tire but there’s a couple of things you need to know first. First off you need to know where your spare tire is, you need to know where your jack is, you need to know where your tire tools are and you want to remove your spare tire, your jack and your tools before you get started in changing your spare tire. So the first thing you’re going to want to do before you change your flat tire and put your spare on is you’re going to make sure the car is in park and the parking brake is engaged. The second step after that is done you’re going to break loose your lug nuts before you start jacking up the car, once the lug nuts have been broken loose then you’ll jack up the car, remove all the lug nuts, put the spare tire on, snug the lug nuts down, lower the jack and then tighten them. This is your lug wrench and this is what we’re going to use to break loose the lug nuts of your tire. This piece here goes into the jack so we can jack it up, some of them are different, some jack handles look different but in your owners manual it’ll show you exactly how to use it but once you see it done once figuring out another style is pretty easy and they’re all screwed tight, they’re all screwed scissor tight jacks. What I mean by a scissor tight jack it’ll come up like a scissor when you start spinning this screw around see how its rises up and that’s what’s going to push up the car and when we start changing this flat tire out you’ll see what I mean about it raising the car up. All we have to do is get our spare tire and we can start changing out our flat."
